Interdisciplinary Studio: The Future of Duluth

[Update: December 14, 2012] Students in an interdisciplinary landscape architecture and architecture graduate studio presented their final projects at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, MN on Wednesday, December 12.More photos from DuluthDuluth Mayor Don Ness was in attendance, along with city planners, port authority workers, and design professionals from around the region. Design Studio On the Road: Visiting San Francisco

Graduate students in the Arch 8255 Urban Design studio led by Professor Ignacio San Martin traveled to San Francisco in October to visit the new Medical Campus at Mission Bay being constructed by the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Associate Director for Facilities Sandra Beck met with students throughout a two hour presentation that included visiting the new laboratories, residential units for new Faculty and Post-doctoral research fellows and recreational facilities. The Mission Bay site was previously the location of an abandoned large Southern Pacific rail yard that has been completely transformed into a bustling new biotechnology hub. Dunne's Studio III students collaborate with WSI Sports

Lucy Dunne‘s (Apparel Design) Studio III third-year students have finished a project in collaboration with WSI Sports, a local sportswear manufacturer. The student-designed performance base layers have been manufactured by the company and are being sold at BEWI Ski and Snowboard Expos around the country for the next few months.

WSI Sports produced a fashion show featuring garments designed by Lucy Dunne‘s (Apparel Design) Studio III third-year students.

WSI also produced a fashion show of the students’ garments that will be featured at the Expos; the first one took place October 22-24, 2010 at the Mall of America.

Additionally, Dunne’s work in wearable technology is profiled in a segment on Danish television magazine Horisont.
