Students Win Best in Show at Fusion+Fashion

IIDA Northland hosted its 8th annual Fusion+Fashion Show on Friday, November 8th. A portion of the proceeds benefit the local homeless shelter, People Serving People. This non-traditional runway show combines fashion and charity by challenging participants to create a couture ensemble inspired by our built environment.Fusion+Fashion coverage on Fox 9  This year IIDA invited participants to create a runway fashion look inspired by an original photograph of Minnesota architecture and design. Fusion+Fashion coverage on WCCOA team of University of Minnesota interior design students – Lise Rubins, Lauren Rath, Dustin Dorris, Carol Erklouts, Brittney Just and Kenzie Jordheim – won Best of Show for their design (pictured above) inspired by the U’s Walking Bridge. [Video] Hannah Preble Wins IIDA Northland NEXT Competition

Senior interior design student Hannah Preble’s video, “The Future is Less,” placed 2nd in the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northland NEXT video competition. The student competition was a multimedia challenge for the NEXT generation of designers, creators, and thinkers to show, in two minutes or less, what is next in interior design.
