Architecture Students Envision Dream Cabins for National Competition

The October 2012 issue of Cabin Life  magazine features work by students from the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota and North Carolina State University. They were challenged to meet with “clients” and create livable floor plans, sample renderings, and models that transformed an existing property into a cabin oasis.  Over 5,000 people voted on the ten finalists selected by architecture professor Dale Mulfinger from the University of Minnesota School of Architecture, and architecture professor Georgia Bizios from the North Carolina State University School of Architecture Holly Engle (B.S. Holly Engle Receives U Student Leadership and Service Award

Architecture student Holly Engle will receive the 2012 President's Student Leadership and Service Award on April 30. Engle was nominated by Jim Lutz, adjunct professor at the School of Architecture, for her leadership and service experiences. "I am deeply honored to receive such a prestigious award from President Eric Kaler," says Engle, whose goal when she started studying at the College of Design was to focus on involvement and professional networking. She served as the Vice President of the American Institute of Architecture Students in 2010 and President of the organization in 2011.
