Dear Colleagues, I'll keep this week's email short. As I noted in last week's Monday Minute, a draft of our FY13 compact is available for comment (you'll need your x500 login to view the document.) It is due into the Provost's office on Friday. If you have any feedback, please be sure to send it my way no later than 4pm Wednesday. Our formal presentation in next Wednesday, the 22nd. Monday Minute, February 6, 2012: Moving Forward

Dear Colleagues, You may have already heard that we received notice last week indicating that, while we made a compelling argument for our coming together as a college on one campus, the University decided that it has more urgent facilities needs and that the renovation of the Armory for our use will not be on the University's next three capital requests to the legislature through 2018. This was disappointing news. However, I also view this as a chance to rethink our current space needs and how we might use technology and other avenues to bring our disciplines closer together even with our college remaining on two campuses for the foreseeable future. Dear Colleagues, With RFPs for investments in our vision, visibility and vitality due today, January 31, I thought I'd take the opportunity to once again stress how valuable your ideas in these areas are as we look to the future. As we prepare students for the social, environmental and economic ramifications of each problem they address and every decision they make in their work, we must do the same in ours.Along similar lines, a number of faculty and I met with the folks from the Office of Technology Commercialization last fall to discuss the commercialization of University developed Intellectual Property.
