Architecture as Catalyst is an annual week-long event, bringing new ideas, conversations, and expertise to the School of Architecture by inviting guests from around the world to run experimental workshops with graduate students and give public lectures on their work. A Collage Machine + A Treasured Object: Two MFA Graphic Designers Share Their Work

Jessica Barness, an MFA Graphic Design candidate, is holding an open house to exhibit her thesis project, A (Dis)Connected Twenty-Six, on Thursday, April 26 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in McNeal 233. Visitors are invited to create and print their own collage designs, which will appear alongside Barness' work on Friday, April 27. "In A (Dis)Connected Twenty-Six, the alphabet, Morse code, and collage are used to explore the role of translation in design," explains Barness. "The open house will feature an interactive 'collage machine' as well as code-glitched videos and images."
