In The Window: New Displays at the Weisman Art Museum

Retail merchandising students in Dooyoung Choi's Visual Merchandising class collaborated with the Weisman Art Museum (WAM) this spring on a new display for the WAM shop windows. Their work drew inspiration from the paintings of Edith Carlson, which are currently on view in the museum.MORE: Photos of the final designThe winning team selected to implement their design, JiaoJiao Srigle, Rachel Letsche, and Calley Kesler, focused on the color palette of Carlson's painting. "The collection has an elegant simplicity placed on a white wall with natural wood flooring," explaind Srigle, "so we chose to incorporate wood into our color scheme as well. Weisman Art Museum Window Display Honors Campus Leaders

In Dooyoung Choi's Visual Merchandising class (RM 3243) this semester, students learn about conceptualizing and designing store interiors, layouts, fixtures, lighting, signs, and merchandising planograms. They also competed to design a new Weisman Art Museum (WAM) shop window display. The winning team includes Kimberly Jurichko, Amanda Lai, Thanh Nguyen, and Alanna Norton.
