Clinton Hewitt Receives 2012 President's Award for Outstanding Service

Clinton Hewitt (Emeritus, Landscape Architecture) is the recipient of the 2012 President’s Award for Outstanding Service, an award recognizing his remarkable work with the University and in the field of Landscape Architecture.  Professor Hewitt is recognized for greatly expanding the understanding and impact of landscape architecture. When he retired in 2009, friends and colleagues established the Clinton N. Laura Musacchio Presents at Helsinki University Centre for Environment Conference in Finland

Laura Musacchio, an associate professor in the department of Landscape Architecture, recently spoke at the University of Helsinki, Finland during HENVI Science Days 2012, a conference hosted by the Helsinki University Centre for Environment (HENVI). The event aimed to bring up the concept of ecosystem services in the context of urban sustainability, enhance science-policy interface and support dialogue between science and society. Musacchio spoke on the second day of the conference about cultivating our own deep nature and deep care, and the role of knowledge broker in the cultural dimension of ecosystem services. Michigan State Honors Joanne Eicher with Outstanding Alumni Award

Dr. Joanne Eicher (Regents Professor Emerita, DHA) will receive the Michigan State College of Social Science Alumni Association's 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award. The award is presented annually to a Michigan State graduate whose combination of credentials, experience, and achievements distinguishes them in their chosen field.
