Graphic Design Seniors Showcase Final Projects in Virtual Exhibition
Graphic design seniors graduating this summer are hosting a virtual exhibition to showcase their final projects on Friday, August 14. Titled “Fill in the Blank,” the exhibition theme is based around the idea of uncertainty.
“As we graduate into the world, our future is even more uncertain than normal for a group of soon to be college grads,” said the exhibition promotions team. “We chose the name ‘Fill in the Blank’ for our exhibition because it can have many meanings. The word ‘blank’ can be replaced with a variety of other words in order to highlight the unknown nature not only of this exhibition, but of our individual futures.”
Students in the graduating class worked primarily online to create their exhibition during the University of Minnesota’s “July-mester” with the participants including individuals from California, Arizona, North Dakota, and Illinois.
The exhibition will go live to the public on Friday, August 14 at z.umn.edu/FITB2020. In addition to this virtual exhibition, the seniors will also showcase their work in a physical exhibition in Rapson Hall on the University of Minnesota’s East Bank Campus. The dates for the physical exhibition will run from August 14 to October 30 depending on building accessibility.
