Advertising Club Explores Chicago’s Ad Industry

Students in the Advertising Club had the opportunity to explore the world of advertising in Chicago this winter break. Four of the College of Design’s graphic design students who participated were able to get a first-hand look at the life in an advertisement agency, receiving private tours of Critical Mass, HAVAS, Leo Burnett, and Upshot. Students ranging from freshman to seniors were able to utilize this trip to gain a better understanding of the advertising world and network with professional agencies. Senior graphic design student McKenzie Ross says she decided to participate in the trip because she had never been to Chicago, and found it useful to see how the advertising industry in Chicago compares to Minneapolis.
