40,000 Students Sign Up for New Creativity MOOC
The educational platform Coursera
partners with universities and organizations worldwide to offer free
MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses) for anyone to take online. Starting
today, Associate Dean of Research and Development Brad Hokanson will host a 7-week MOOC on Coursera called Creative Problem Solving.
More than 40,000 people from around the world have signed up to participate in Hokanson’s class. Assignments will include creativity building exercises, short lectures, and readings to help students develop an understanding of creativity and increase their own ability.
In addition to offering the MOOC this spring, Hokanson will offer a variant course called SMOOCH (Semi-Massive Open Online Course, Here), as a for-credit course open to all University of Minnesota students next fall. Watch for registration information coming soon!
